Week 10

Week 10 was a fun one! With the exception of Friday night (when he wanted to stay up and party until the wee hours of the morning...more on that later), Colin made us very happy this week by sleeping between 7.5 and 9 hours every single night! He's still hit or miss on whether he's going to take a minute or an hour to fall asleep, but we've seen improvement in that department. We also stopped swaddling him this week. We weren't sure if we made the right decision at first, but seeing his new sleeping position on the monitor made us think we probably did...he was finally a free man!
Colin and I met Beth and Ellie for lunch this week. We had lots of fun sharing mommy stories, and thanks to Beth's recommendation, we are now members of a great babysitting website. Hopefully more baby-free nights are in our future!
Colin has been talking and laughing more and more. Here are a couple videos of that - giggling at his daddy (until mom walked over and ruined the moment) and talking to his mom on the changing table.
Colin is also getting better and better at lifting his head up. As you'll see in this video, it's very hard work!
Colin had a lot of fun, silly time with his dad this week. They were being goofy on the couch together using Colin's big boy chair...
They've also been watching a baby sign language video together...
Colin thanked his dad for all the fun playtime by spitting up, peeing AND pooping on him all at once!
Colin outgrew his first bathtub (his legs would be out of the water and his feet would hang over the side and get very cold!), so he tried out a bigger tub this week - much better.
Colin also got to spend some time with Aunt Lisa and Uncle Greg on Saturday. They came over to give us a break after Colin threw us for a loop by crying from about 7:30pm to 11:30pm on Friday night, and then getting up at 3:30am and being cranky all Saturday morning. We really needed a baby break, and our lifesavers arrived! Of course, Colin was a perfect angel while they were here (or so they claim), getting lots of much-needed rest and leading to a great rest of the weekend with lots of good sleep!
And some funny Colin faces from the week, including a couple overdue "Fat Tuesday" themed pictures - thanks for the feathers, Grandma McGinnis!
