Week 21 was full of lots of adventures, including Colin catching a pretty severe cold/fever/cough/rash/swelling/blister/toenail infection thing. After the doc directed him to stay out of daycare all week, Gabe and I scrambled to get our schedules in order and split Colin duty. All in all, it wasn't so bad - we had a lot more time with him than we would on a normal work week, and he did end up getting completely better (after FOUR doctor visits and about 1000 medicines). Here are a few pictures taken when Aunt Lisa came over to give me a break so that I could work for a little while, as well as to help me get his medicine routine (which is taking over the counter in this picture) under control. She is soaking his foot (part of the stupid toenail remedy) and reviewing the rest of the medicines...

As part of his recovery plan, Colin was using a nebulizer every four hours this week. It's basically a mask that blows a mist of medicine and water into his nose and mouth to help clear up his pretty severe congestion. He didn't love the mask, but he was a pretty good sport about it, especially if we sang to him and made him laugh:

Here is a video of our little "nebi baby" in action:
On to the fun stuff! These days, Colin much prefers sitting up (relatively) unassisted over laying down flat. As you can see, we're still working on this skill:

I have no words for this picture, other than to wonder if the doctor was really right in her claim that you can't overfeed a breastfed baby.
Colin has continued to enjoy eating baby rice cereal, and this weekend even moved on to bigger and better things - baby oatmeal cereal!!
He also insists on holding his own bottle, which works about 10% of the time...
A limited "Colin faces" section for the week:
We've learned that with a baby comes a lot of extra sh$t (that we are constantly tripping on!), so we've gotten rid of the bed in our second bedroom and instead transformed it into our baby sh$t-keeping room:
And now some funny Colin videos from last weekend (before the week-long illness struck):
Colin can't get enough of that cute baby in the mirror!
We are sure Grandma Kay will be delighted to see that Colin seems to be developing some very impressive musical talents...
And my personal favorite, Colin cracking up for no apparent reason other than the repeated face plants he's taking into the blanket!
See you next week!
