Grandma Week! (Weeks 30 & 31)

Hi Everybody. It's me, Colin.

My mom and dad haven't really been keeping up with the blog, so I thought I'd take a turn this week. My best story has to do with my Grandma McGinnis, but first I'll tell you about my haircut.

Actually, first I'll tell you that I'm 7 months old. Do you know what that means? It means I'm not a baby anymore! I'm a big boy now.

Anyway, back to my haircut. Well, I didn't think I looked so bad, but my dad said that I needed a "clean up" since my hair was growing over my ears again. My dad is super cool, so I trusted him. Here's a before picture:

I felt a little nervous about the clippers, so my dad distracted me with a bottle and got to work. Once we were done with my hair, he cut my finger nails and toe nails too. I held really still (like a big boy).

When we were all done, my mom kept saying I looked like a big boy and taking pictures of me, but I just wanted to watch Reggie and Jack. I really didn't feel any different at all.

Well, I guess I did feel kind of silly, but I don't know if that had anything to do with my new haircut.
Then all of a sudden I noticed something...
There were little scratchy hairs all over my face and neck!
There was only one solution - get in the bathtub right away!!
My mom dumped water right on my head so that we could get all the itchiness off of me!

I felt much better after my bath, but I don't think I want a haircut again for a long time!
Okay, now I'll tell you my best story. My Grandma McGinnis came to visit me for a whole week!! I played with her all day every day, and we had so much fun!
I learned how to do so many new things while she was here. Like drink out of a sippy cup!
My Grandma also helped me do lots of new fun things with my hands. We would pat, pat, pat the dogs, and hit two toys together. I even started to clap, clap clap!!

I learned another really fun new game - reach out to grab my Grandma's hands and pull myself up to stand! I love to play this game over and over and over! Do you see the big boy standing in this picture? That's me!

One of my favorite times with my Grandma was in the bathtub. She would help me lean forward so I could splash the water with my hands and then lean back so I could kick, kick, kick the water with my feet! I liked this game so much that I asked my mom and dad to play it with me too.

My Grandma read me lots of books and gave me lots of toys to play with.

And she took me on a walk every single day. And of course we watched the dogs in the backyard all the time too.
Boy, I sure do miss my Grandma. One of the best weeks I ever had was when she came to stay with me. I love her and I can't wait to see her again!
My mom and dad tried to make sure I had a lot of fun after she left so that I didn't feel sad. My mom sang songs with me and played with me in the bath.
And my dad let me sleep with him one night!!
So far being 7 months old is really fun!!
