Before heading out for the fun last night, the Kruse family headed to Lowes so we could get supplies for a few house projects. Colin was thrilled with all the space - great for walking back and forth, back and forth...
Skipping around a little, a couple weeks ago we put a hat on Colin for the car ride to a restaurant, and then THIS peacock-like happened when we took it off! It defied all logic and gravity, and got quite a few chuckles from the rest of the restaurant crowd.

Lots of places closed down for a couple days after the major snow storm, including Colin's daycare. Unfortunately, Gabe and I both had to go into work for at least a few hours on those days, so we had to patch together coverage for Colin. Lucky for him, a couple hours of that coverage included some much-appreciated help from the Jamiesons and their cute daughter Ellie! I think these pictures say it all...

Colin is saying (or at least trying to say) countless words now, but his favorite is still "Ball!" Here he is sneaking over to the tree to yet again grab the not-so-kid-friendly shiny balls...
Now pictures from our trip to Wisco for Christmas. Boy did we have fun. I'll have to tell you about that fun in reverse chronological order since I uploaded the pictures wrong. Here's Gabe carrying all of our stuff at the airport. In our defense, that big thing on his back is Colin's car seat, but still - that's a whole lotta suitcase for 3 people for five days!
Colin was uncharacteristically mellow on the flight home. He quietly cuddled in our laps with either his thumb or his sock (?!?) in his mouth...

Colin got to use a fancy family bathroom in the airport that had a sink low enough for him to reach!

We stayed with Kay, Jim and Joanne in their Ridgeway house on the last night. Colin had so much fun walking back and forth between all of his aunts, uncles, grandparents!

He sure loves his Grandpa Jim and Grandma Kay!

Colin also had lots of fun playing with with all kinds of new toys with his older cousins.

We did a lot of driving around during our Wisco trip, and it was fun to have Colin facing forward in his car seat for the first time (since he is ALMOST 1 and definitely heavy enough). He's not looking too thrilled in this picture because he wanted a "nana!" (banana) and we weren't giving him what he wanted!!
We also had a great time visiting Grandpa Jerry in Iowa. Colin was very interested in Grandpa's tattoo...

Colin also had a lot of fun getting wild with his Dad and his cousin Blaire in Grandpa's kitchen...

And it was so fun to meet Colin's younger cousin Tate for the first time! Boy is he smiley!
Colin making himself comfortable during one of our car trips.

Colin and I playing a silly game where we roll back and forth - luckily Colin's lunch didn't end up on my face.

Very big man driving a very little car. It's hard to tell from this picture, but his hair was actually touching the ceiling...
Grandpa Jerry and Uncle Travis performing a little oral surgery on Gabe when his bracket came unhooked - yikes!
More cousin fun! We had a fantastic dinner (made almost entirely from scratch!) with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Shawn and cousins Livia and Logan.
Fun bath at Grandma Kay's!
And pictures from one of the main Wisco events - Gabe's Reindeer Run in Janesville. The "deer" had a friendly little costume competition this year. With help from Grandma Kitty, Gabe's costume was one of the very best! Among the other strongest performers were the Grinch (just left of middle) and Ralphie's bunny costume from A Christmas Story (pink bunny with thick rimmed glasses at back right). A blast as usual!

And our very first stop after landing in Milwaukee - breakfast at New Berlin's "Peach Pit" with the Dirsts. Colin had fun coloring with Sarah and being more athletic than Kevin.
Finally, pictures from our flight to Milwaukee. Colin was characteristically bonkers, grabbing everything in sight and crawling way too far under the seat. Luckily we could always coax the little monster from his cave with food...

Here are some more pictures from the snow storm of the century - Gabe working hard to keep our drive way clear and our backyard after about 24 hours of snow!

We stayed nice and cozy inside with fully body sweatpants, hot chocolate, homemade soup, a sleepover with Lisa and Greg and Gabe's fantastic french toast in the morning.
Lisa, Good Samaratin, Maurer decided she was going to help about 300 people dig their cars out of the ditches on our street. Gabe, Greg and I tried to stick to our guns and stay in the house with our alcohol, but guilt got the best of us and we joined her outside. We met some (weird) neighbors and even helped dig out a snow plow!
Gabe convincing Colin to eat some greens - the parmesean cheese and butter seems to help.

Videos! This first one is Colin saying one of his favorite words - Hola! (And then getting mad that I'm asking him to say it over and over.)
And a couple videos from the airport where Colin killed some time by walking back and forth, and then rolling all over on the floor - very clean, I'm sure.
Colin has added "milk" to the signs he does on a regular basis. The first video is from the car (too bad for him, we did not actually HAVE any milk at that time), and the second one is what he does when he first wakes up. We open the door to get him from his crib, and before he even opens his eyes all the way, he is signing for milk as fast as his little hands can do it!
A favorite game - throwing a ball!
And opening some Christmas and early birthday presents from Grandma. (And, yes, my Wisconsin accent gets stronger when I spend time there.)
